Gratitude is one of the most powerful tools towards our spiritual enlightenment. It helps us to free our negative emotions and heal.
Money is never enough. The more we earn, the more we spend. Appreciate the little money you possess. Appreciate that this money will buy you bread and a roof over your head. It may not be as much as you want but acknowledge and be grateful for what you have.
People you dislike
People that we most dislike are people we should show appreciation for. For they are teaching us to become stronger human beings. They provide the contrast for us to grow. Appreciate ex boyfriends, difficult co-workers, even the rude shop assistant.
People who hurt your feelings
Forgiveness is not for the person who hurts you. It is for your own piece of mind. Show appreciation for those who hurt you and realize that every situation is a learning experience even a negative one.
Those who experience chronic pain, sickness or those who dislike their shape, can find peace when they are grateful for the bodies they have.
People ask “If I am in pain what should I be grateful for” ? Be grateful that you have this body, warts and all for you have been given the opportunity to come to this world to watch the sunset and see the butterfly spread its wings as it emerges from its cocoon.
Gratitude is not easy. It is difficult to have gratitude for negative emotions.
As you practice you will see it getting easier and easier to find things to be grateful for. If you seek improvement in your life then gratitude is the solution.
