What is kundalini – ascension into happiness

Kundalini is a cosmic energy which lays dormant in most individuls. It comes from the sanskrit word meaning coiled power and references to our mother that exists in all of us.

In india, vedic literature she is the divine mother Shakthi, Durga or Mother Kali, in wicca she is know as Hecate the dark goddess.

Mother sits at the base of our spine but when awakens travels from the base to meet with her consort Lord Shiva. He wears a snake around his neck and is depicted as sitting and meditating. They represent the feminine and masculine energies.

Lord Shiva is the God of Destruction destroying evil that exists in the universe. Mother shakti comes in many forms but her reincarnation as Mother Kali is most fierce and Lord Shiva is seen as always trying to calm her down when she loses control.

There are three manifestations in kundalini.

The para – kundalini which is the unmanifested energy, second is Prana, and third is Shakti which connects the two.

Shakti kundalini is a state of self actualisation. The kundalini awakens energy travels from the base chakra to other chakra centres bringing about a state of bliss and purification.

The kriya technique is said to be the easiest to awaken the kundalini

First part is meditation, focus on your breathing, raising the energy from your base up your spine

After which practice move the breath from your third eye to your throat and then to heart, at the centre of your chest stop the breath followed by then inhaling from the spine.

Last part requires a teacher or guru who can assist you in the awakening . Chant your teachers name, repeating the name as you inhale and again when you exhale. If you do not have a teacher then chanting the word “OM” or SA – TA –NA meaning infinity life and death can also be done

As your ascension takes place you will find:

Your dreams are more vivid,

You see the world differently          and question your beliefs.

Feel a rush of energy especially in your crown chakra and even open psychic abilities.

As you continue you may experience psychological issues such as depression, anxiety which is a way for your body to adjust to the changes.

You may even feel jerks and shaking especially during meditation, tingling and hot f

Your brain is rewiring and central nervous system is affected

Kundalini awakening is best to be performed with a teacher who help you learn and adjust to the major transformation you experience, it is not easy because you are changing your make up and every part of your body changes. But once completed the feeling of happiness and peace is indescribable

  1. Without preparation awakened kundalini can be dangerous, a potentially good thing turned bad (like Shakti manifesting as Kali, the destructive feminine force instead of the blissful Shakti). Pranayam, Hatha, and kundalini yoga along with holotropic breath work, and any energetic block release methods are all important in this preparation. Namaste.
